HISTORY

KennisTranslations was created not only in order to expand and internationalise an existing company but also because its founders strongly believe in the need for a new business model in the translation area.

For this reason, we are intending to equip freelance translators with the means and resources necessary to develop work of recognized quality and a business which can grow in proportion to their performance and involvement.

The origins of KennisTranslations lie in the new KennisGuild business concept, which is based on the notion that a service becomes special when it is executed by professionals whose characteristics and way of working are fully adapted to their goals. Services should have a signature. In other words, a client must be able to work with the person or group who will carry out the very best work. Every service is unique, and if it is carried out by the right people, the chance of achieving satisfaction, both for the client and for the working team, will be substantially increased. With our services, each person puts his face to his work. It is not a question of impersonally delivering a job, as on an assembly line, but of creating a product that is made with the dedication and pride of a craftsman.

The first company to join the group was 100 Folhas - Produções Culturais e Consultoria, Lda, which was founded in the year 2000 by two sisters, Ana and Luisa Yokochi. After nearly a decade of providing services of recognised quality in the area of translations, Ana and Luisa aligned their company with the KennisGuild philosophy. Supported by the group, they began to implement a strategy designed to expand and globalise their business, resulting in the company joining the KennisGuild group and being rebranded as KennisTranslations. As a result, their share capital increased, new shareholders joined, and the business was made into a limited company. KennisTranslations is proud to have recruited a group of professionals of various nationalities as shareholders/partners who provide excellent linguistic services, always with the motto “translations with a face”.
